The outcome is a professional diving watch strongly inspired by the YEMA Navygraf II of the 1970s. With a water resistance rating of 200m, a neo-vintage style metal bracelet, a unidirectional diving bezel and a simplicity no date design, this watch has perfectly captured the essence of original diving watches all while remaining modern and usable. Powering the watch is Yema’s in-house caliber YEMA2000.
This movement has been developed exclusively for Yema and offers 42 hours of power reserve and vibrates at 28,800 vph proving a smooth seconds hand sweep. Why this watch? This watch has been designed by a passionate watch collector of Yema watches. Fitted with a large, standard style screw in crown.
The crystal on this watch takes up 3.5mm of the thickness, meaning the watch wears closer to 11mm on the wrist. Combined with its 38mm diameter the watch is extremely versatile and comfortable. This offers a brilliant bang for buck.
At this price you can wear a watch that isn’t a direct re-issue but rather an amalgamation of an era - much like the Tudor Black Bay 58. About The Brand French brand Yema has been making watches since 1948, when it was founded by Henry Louis Belmont and would go on to be the top French exporter of watches in 1966-68. The brand has produced many reliable models over the decades, such as the Yachtingraf & Rallygraf, but the most famous of which is the Superman.
Introduced in 1963, with its iconic bezel lock and 300m water resistance, the Yema Superman was chosen to equip French Air Force pilots. Yema have continued this military history today, with partnerships with both the French Air Force and Marine Nationale. In 2009 Yema launched their first in-house calibre, making it one of the few brands to offer watches with an in-house movement for less than £1,000.
Today the brand are on their second generation of movements, with the three hand YEMA2000 and the GMT YEMA3000.
